Every rehearsal and performance exercises the 21st century skills, a current educational phrase encompassing creativity, collaboration, critical thinking, complex communication, flexibility and adaptability, productivity and accountability-all inherent to jazz. Jazz is great for kids. As is true in all musical learning, the key is being an active participant, rather than a passive listener. Kids learn best by doing. Sharon\'s current work focuses on bringing interactive jazz experiences to children and youth of all ages. Sharon serves as an elementary education consultant for Jazz At Lincoln Center.
