About Sharon van Beek

My career in nursing has been a delightful journey! What other career can give a person the tools needed to work in the intensive care unit, test and reprogram implantable pacemakers and cardioverter defibrillators in a cardiology office; become manager of Electrophysiology (EP) in the same office and then manager of the service line covering office and hospital EP procedure labs! Along the way I have been able to advance my passion for science and how the body, in particular the heart, functions and uses my desire to care for and help people. While in leadership, I was introduced to efficiency programs, such as LEAN Sigma, how to manage clinical practice as well as do business with vendors and manage budgets. I also worked with teams to develop best strategy and process to implement new technology in our practice. So now my career journey has brought me to industry, iRhythm Technologies. I enjoyed working with this company as a customer and am proud to join their team as an employee. My years in healthcare and seeing the needs of institutions and patients will enhance my ability to help other institutions develop best strategy and process for implementing the ZIO patch, managing the information it provides to direct patient care, and integrating the utilization of ZIO system wide. Introducing new technology to any system requires knowledge of the institution\'s needs, understanding the departments affected, and the workflow necessary to accomplish efficient, highest quality patient care. My job is to effective integrate ZIO system wide.
