Senior Software Engineer, Team Lead @Man Group
Spearheading the React technology initiative in my sizable department and bringing other departments together to forge an optimum suite of best practices, coding standards and collaborative efforts in web design. This includes creating innovative POCs, giving presentations, knowledge sharing, recruiting and mentoring. I have become an SME in React development. I have initiated, coordinated, collaborated and formed network bridges with other React engineers across Man Group to standardise and improve React development. I introduced eslint, prettier, stylelint, githooks, React Testing Library and unit test code coverage; and collaborated to bring project structure, Redux and Cypress end-to-end automated testing to our projects. I try to influence more than the technology space around me. I also recruit with the goal to encourage diversity and have managed and mentored a number of individuals. I’ve been involved with the Disability Working Group at Man and am an advocate for others with disabilities; hoping to help individuals to thrive, and not just cope, in the workplace.
