ABOUT SHARON KELLY
With over 25 years of experience in national and international securities market regulation, supervision, and policy development, I am currently a Senior Financial Sector Specialist at the World Bank Group in Washington, DC. In this role, I advise on the regulation and supervision of securities markets, provide high-quality advice to emerging market countries on the development of domestic securities markets, with a focus on regulation and supervision of capital markets. I also contribute to securities markets operations, including financial sector assessments (FSAP), and build relationships with key government and industry officials in emerging and developed markets.Prior to this, I acted as a Strategic Advisor to the President and CEO of the Autorité des marchés financiers (AMF), the regulatory body for Québec\'s financial industry. In that role, I also served for five years as the Chair of the Assessment Committee at the International Organization of Securities Commissions (IOSCO), the global standard setter for securities regulation and cooperation. In these roles, I contributed to the development and implementation of policies and initiatives that promote investor protection, market integrity, and financial stability.I have a strong background in international business and strategy, as well as fluency in English, French, and basic knowledge of German. I am passionate about fostering collaboration and dialogue among diverse stakeholders and jurisdictions, as well as enhancing the capacity and effectiveness of the securities sector. I value innovation, transparency, and inclusiveness in my work, and I seek to leverage my expertise and network to advance the public interest and the common good.
