In this current position, I am primarily working with faculty in areas of professional development and scholarship. We received a VANAP grant July 2014 and as part of the team, I am collaborating with TWU and the Veterans Administration North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) nursing faculty in developing a veteran-centric curriculum for undergraduate nursing students at TWU. I am also working with VANTHCS to develop a Post-Baccalaureate Nursing Residence (PBNR) program that can become CCNE accredited. I am assisting in the development of an innovative curriculum for the nurse residents that moves them from new graduates to informed practitioners ready to assume leadership roles in work with Veterans and their families.
