ABOUT SHARON BENTAHAR

I have always been inspired and empowered by the power of a collective work environment and the positive change that comes with it. My early years in high school I would spend most of my free time at a local community center few blocks aways from where I lived; I spend hours with sheer number of individuals who would come together for one common cause to create a better world for all. This was my firsthand experience in the world of nonprofit sector, and never let go ever since. Few years in my senior years in college I found myself at the reins of \'Interfaith\' a nonprofit that brings everyone together from all walks of life as one body and one community. Workshops to promotes tolerance, acceptance and diversity by empowering, and creating climate that seeks to prevent discrimination, misunderstanding or violence before it happens. In my tenure of three years as a member, launched dozens community projects and positively impacted over ten thousand lives. The journey, however, has been far from smooth. I have had to navigate through twists and turns, ups and downs of unstable funding, landscapes, manage a diverse stakeholder expectation while addressing the challenges presented by policy shifts. But my team and I have always remained driven and resilient in demonstrating our commitment to the cause and our ability to adapt and innovate. My passion is my work, I ensure I strike a balance with my personal life. I enjoy volunteering at other nonprofit organizations and blood drive sites which taught me importance of compassion and patience - virtues that servs me well in my profession. Therefore, I am still continuing to devote my time and efforts with my journey to serving \'Non-Profit Immigration Services\' vulnerable low-income immigrant community (newcomers), refugees and asylum-seekers to access their basic needs and necessities while transitioning. access to food, medical, education, affordable housing, employment assistance, and immigration benefits through USCIS/DHS and NVC. I believe in the power of collaboration and would love to connect with like-minded professionals who are passionate about making a difference.
