ABOUT SHARLEE GILBERT

I was born and raised in Calgary, Alberta and have always known Calgary as home. I attended the University of Lethbridge where I obtained my Bachelor\'s of Management degree, and during my education I took opportunities to work and study abroad. Here, I developed a passion for travel and immersing myself in different cultures. In 2022 I celebrated visiting my 50th country – a major milestone and personal accomplishment. My professional career has been comprised of a variety of experiences including technical emergency response plan (ERP) development, field level training and program audits, project management, people management, and various stakeholder engagement initiatives including collaboration with numerous regulators; AER, BCER, CER, AUC, and CSA. I have been successful developing strong leadership skills, consistently exercising the ability to support, motivate, and mentor a team through challenging projects and encouraging professional and business development. I pride myself on my ability to adapt in agile environments, my confidence in presenting practical ideas, and willingness to exercise radical candor to challenge assumptions to encourage diverse perspectives. I am passionate about emergency response and preparedness. I carry key principles of safety and well-being into all aspects of life. I love spending time outdoors, wake surfing, water skiing, cross country skiing, hiking, snowboarding and backcountry camping.
