ABOUT SHARLA STEINMAN
Sharla Steinman is a fourth-year political science student at UCLA. She is the current city and Crime editor at the Daily Bruin, UCLA’s newspaper. Sharla also interned in Congressman Brad Sherman’s office, where she assisted constituents over the phone, at events, and helped with office duties. In her work at the Daily Bruin, Sharla has honed in on her ability to write, edit, research and lead. She mainly authors stories on LA City Council, Westwood politics, and events in the community. Sharla holds weekly meetings for the city and crime beat and guides her team on their stories. Sharla has previous experience in politics. She previously interned for Makers Strategies, where she conducted research on various environmental organizations for A-list clientele. In her role, she also made various social media posts. She hopes to pursue a career that combines her love for journalism and passion for the law. Sharla will be applying to both journalism and law school in 2024.
