For more than 25 years, Shari Cedar has led with purpose, entrepreneurial vision, and a deep commitment to people. Her career spans two dynamic industries, award-winning television production and commercial cleaning services, where she has consistently built high-performing teams, strong client partnerships, and purpose-driven cultures. As CEO and Co-Owner of AK Building Services, one of Florida’s largest privately owned commercial janitorial services firms, Shari sets the company’s strategic direction and drives enterprise growth. She oversees brand positioning, market expansion, organizational development, and client strategy, ensuring the company delivers consistent value to a diverse portfolio of institutional and commercial partners across South Florida. Shari co-leads the family-owned business with her husband with a focus on operational excellence, long-term relationships, and continuous improvement. Her leadership style blends strategic thinking with empathy, accountability, and a strong belief that people drive performance. Prior to joining AK Building Services, Shari built a successful career in television as a Senior Executive and Executive Producer, developing and producing award-winning programming for Bravo, NBC, MTV, ABC, HGTV, E, National Geographic, and Discovery. Her experience in storytelling, branding, and audience engagement continues to influence her approach to leadership and business strategy today. Shari holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Vermont and a Master of Science in Broadcast Journalism from Boston University. An active industry and community leader, Shari represents AK Building Services through her involvement with-Florida Executive Forum (Board Member)-Executive Association of Fort Lauderdale (Board Member)-Nova Southeastern University (NSU) Ambassador Board -Building Owners and Managers Association (BOMA)-CREW Network (Commercial Real Estate Women) She serves as a Board Member for Pace Center for Girls, is a member of Women United®, and previously served two consecutive terms as President of the Board of Beaux Arts Fort Lauderdale. Additionally, she is supportive of organizations that are near and dear to her heart, including Red Sneakers for Oakley, Maccabi USA and the Christopher Reeve Foundation – running multiple marathons in support of her friend’s honor. Outside of work, Shari is an avid runner and enjoys skiing. As a working mother of two sons, she is passionate about modeling resilience, discipline, and community leadership at home and in business.
