Ms. Karney set the foundations for landmark legislation that started the movement for sexual assault justice. For her, it is an honor to speak as a victim of child sexual abuse, an attorney for survivors of child sexual abuse and sexual assault and give voice to survivors around the world, many of whom accomplished so much through conquering their adversity. Ms. Karney says “If I can protect just one woman or child from going through what I went through, it will all have been worth it.” Shari had the privilege of meeting Rosa Parks on a television show titled The Five Most Heroic Women in America. Meeting Rosa Parks was a life-changing experience for Karney.
