   RF Engineer • I test RF power delivery systems, RF sources, and matching networks for plasma process control • I develop engineering specifications for component development • I run test plans for product qualification • I validate that design performance aligns with the requirements Plasma Engineer • I understand needs of particular application (physics and chemistry), translate it into the type of plasma that is suitable for that application, and come up with the hardware or software requirements. The type of plasma means operating pressure range, plasma density range, ion energy range, electron temperature range etc. These parameters determine what kind of plasma source is required, such as CCP (capacitively coupled plasma source), ICP (inductively coupled plasma source), or TCP (transformer coupled plasma source), microwave plasma source, etc. • I use computational techniques to assist in design, development, and diagnostics of plasma sources • I assume responsibility for developing and improving plasma systems and for dealing with issues related to plasma/RF systems • I evaluate concepts of specific plasma sources (source types, RF/microwave frequencies that will be used to operate, type of plasma such as continuous or pulsed etc.), working with a team of mechanical engineers and electrical engineers to come up with prototype design. Once we have a prototype, I test and gather data and propose modifications and improvements until we have a version that we can ship to a customer. • I develop new ways to generate a specific plasma using an existing plasma source via improvements in RF systems • I troubleshoot field issues that cannot be solved by the account team by understanding the issues and developing solutions. These issues include intermittent arcing during a specific process at a specific customer that affects their device yield, plasma uniformity that affects their device performance, or plasma damage issues that also affect their device yield
