About Ryan Sheriff
I design and validate hardware platforms with a deep focus on power delivery. My work spans power architecture from input protection and sequencing to point-of-load regulation, plus PDN/PI (transient response, decoupling strategy, IR drop, return paths) and measurement-driven bring-up. I take designs from prototype bring-up through verification and issue closure, working closely with EE/ME/FW teams to deliver robust, production-ready hardware.I design schematics, guide PCB implementation, and integrate sensors and serial interfaces (UART/I2C/SPI) alongside MIPI DSI/CSI, with SI/PI awareness. On the firmware side, I write C/C++ for test, control, and early system validation, and I support MCU-based bring-up and debugging. I also interface with actuator and motor-drive subsystems (DC motor/stepper/BLDC fundamentals, H-bridges/inverters, current sensing, and protection) at the system level, and I’m familiar with how MCUs and FPGAs fit into board architecture and integration.Core keywords: power tree, PDN/PI optimization, VRM, load-step, decap optimization, SI/PI, board bring-up, clocks/jitter, high-speed interfaces, MIPI DSI/CSI, UART/I2C/SPI, embedded systems, EMI/EMC, thermal, lab validation, Python, C/C++.
