ABOUT ABBASS AL SHARIF

Abbass Al Sharif is currently the director of the data science team at AXS, a global ticketing company that connects fans with music artists and sports teams they love. In his current role, Abbass is responsible for growing and leading the data science team, working on the exciting and challenging aspects of dynamic pricing and revenue management for music and sports venues using statistical modeling and scalable machine learning techniques. In addition, Abbass and his team work closely with the marketing team at AXS to utilize data science tools such as customer segmentation, recommendation engines, and A/B testing to provide a personalized journey for AXS fans. Before joining AXS, Abbass was a professor of data science at one of the top business schools in the USA, University of Southern California, Marshall School of Business, where he established, grew, and led its highly ranked MS in Business Analytics program. Abbass taught statistics courses at both graduate and undergraduate level, and his teachings ranged from classes on how to consume statistics in everyday\'s life to data science for business decision-making, machine learning, statistical computing, and data visualization.Abbass has a PhD in Mathematical Statistics from Utah State University, and a MS in Computer Science from the Lebanese American University in Beirut. His learning interests are in the fields of statistical computing, data visualization, cryptocurrencies, and business analytics.
