ABOUT SHARI L. FRIEDMAN

I have counseled and represented clients in maritime, transportation, insurance, and commercial matters for over 30 years. My maritime and transportation law practice includes diverse areas such as the acquisition and sale of marine assets; ship mortgages; security agreements; charter parties; bills of lading; shipyard disputes; construction agreements; vessel sale and purchase agreements; vessel lease agreements; vessel registration and documentation; arrest and attachment of vessels and cargo; cargo loss and damage; collision and allision; defense of Jones Act, LHWCA, and recreational vessel personal injury; marine incident investigation; maritime liens; chartering; marina operator\'s liability; and salvage. I represent banks, non-bank lenders, vessel owners, insurance companies, charterers, boat share companies, barge lines, companies and individuals acquiring and selling marine assets, freight forwarders, NVOCCs, and common carriers. I also litigate commercial matters and counsel clients in the resolution of business disputes, including matters involving contracts, premises liability, products liability, and personal injury defense. I have litigated extensively in both state and federal courts, including appellate courts.
