ABOUT SHARDUL DUBEY

Born and brought up in India, Shardul had an incredibly active childhood as he played fencing and baseball at provincial, national and international levels. Moving to Canada in his preteen with his family, Shardul joined the Royal Canadian Air Cadets and donned the blue uniform for the first time. Progressing through the ranks, he aged-out as the Cadet Commander of RCAC 830 Pierrefonds Squadron in Montreal. Shardul received his Private Pilot’s license through the Air Cadet Program and was selected to be the Canadian Cadet Ambassador to Australia as part of the International Air Cadet Exchange program. Subsequently, Shardul went on to pursue a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering degree from Concordia University and worked as an Aircraft Stress Engineer at Altitude Aerospace, undertaking projects for Boeing and Bombardier. Continuing his passion and journey in aerospace, Shardul enrolled in the Canadian Armed Forces to seek a stimulating career with the military. After graduating from Canadian Forces Leadership and Recruit School, he was assigned to 438 Tactical Helicopter Squadron to do his phase training as an Aerospace Engineering Officer. Shardul was successively posted to 403 Helicopter Operational Training Squadron at CFB Gagetown as the Aircraft Maintenance Officer to work with the CH-146 Griffon helicopters. During this time, he earned a Master of Business Administration degree as well as a Master of Science in Management and Leadership degree from Western Governors University. Shardul was sequentially posted to Canadian Forces School of Aerospace Technology and Engineering at CFB Borden as the Aerospace Engineering Instructor to groom the next generation of Aerospace Engineers. He is currently employed as the Military Aide to the Minister of Veterans Affairs Canada and Associate Minister of National Defence.With the aim of helping the society through humanitarian aviation, Shardul founded the organization Aviation Without Borders Canada. He is a recipient of the Royal Canadian Legion Medal of Excellence, Lord Strathcona Medal of Exemplary Performance, Royal Canadian Air Cadets Service Medal, Children of India Award and the Duke of Edinburgh’s International Gold Award. His entourage can attest to his outstanding professionalism, dedication, leadership, technical expertise, interpersonal skills, and commitment to excellence which enable him to build successful teams that deliver results in the most effective and efficient manner, even under demanding conditions. In his personal time, Shardul is an avid nature explorer and enjoys playing cricket.
