ABOUT SHARAT KUMAR SINGH

I hail from the land of Buddha – Bihar, Patna. This place “has taught me to tackle all possible situations at any point of time and walk tall always come what may”. I feel there is no place for mediocracy and stagnation leads to death. With this zeal to bring change in the teaching pedagogies, I began my teaching career way back in 1998. If, Delhi Public School, Patna taught me the concept of “Smart Schools” way back in 1998 and made me learn the functioning of all the departments be it; Academics, Activity, Career Counseling, Initiating Quiz as a major activity besides leading the department of Economics it also gave me the opportunity to be a member of the Summer School in Economics conducted by London School of Economics. It was with Delhi Public School, Patna, that I gained the experience of setting up a school – a one of its kind at that time and in that part of the country. My stint at Sarala Birla Academy, Bangalore exposed me to the international curriculum IGCSE and IBDP apart from making me learn and get enriched with the functioning of the residential school. SBA also provided me a platform to become a member of the ISC Economics syllabus review committee. It was at Bangalore that I also worked on social science book for grade 8 which is published as Together with social Science by Rachna Sagar, New Delhi. SBA also helped me travel all over the country and experience the functioning of the leading world schools, the experience which has enriched me manifold. This was the second time I got a chance to be involved in setting up a school by virtue of being associated at a nascent stage The third school which entrusted me the responsibility of setting up its policies and academics in place and also saw me moving closer to my home town Patna and it was M.S.Dhoni’s home town Ranchi – Jharkhad and the school was Taurian World School. All these exposure and experience at various schools have helped me know the functioning, curriculum, changes in educational scenario and many more. And now as Principal, of Gems Cambridge International School, Hioshiarpur, Punjab I am poised to replicate the same magic, experience, skills and gift to bring a qualitative change in the school.
