About Sharanya Mathur
I am an environmental and water resources engineer working at the intersection of climate resilience, urban infrastructure systems, and long-term public policy decision-making.Currently at RK & K, I support stormwater and transportation infrastructure projects through hydraulic modelling, drainage analysis, and climate-responsive design for municipal and transportation agencies. My work focuses on helping infrastructure systems perform reliably under increasing climate variability and extreme precipitation conditions.Previously at Brown and Caldwell, I worked as an Owner’s Advisor on large-scale water and wastewater infrastructure programs, including combined sewer overflow (CSO) tunnel systems and interceptor upgrades. My experience spans hydrologic modelling, regulatory coordination, and risk-informed infrastructure planning across complex, multi-stakeholder environments.I am particularly interested in advancing climate adaptation and resilient infrastructure planning within rapidly urbanizing contexts, bridging technical engineering expertise with governance and policy implementation. My work aims to translate complex engineering data into actionable strategies that support sustainable cities and long-term infrastructure investment decisions. My professional interests include:• Urban climate resilience and flood risk management• Water and wastewater infrastructure systems• Climate risk and adaptation planning• Infrastructure governance and public sector advisoryI am always interested in conversations around climate-resilient infrastructure, urban systems transformation, and public sector collaboration.
