About Shao Qin Tan
I’m Shao, actively looking for Summer 2025 internships to apply my technical expertise in solving complex challenges, particularly in embedded systems, full-stack development or machine learning. I am a Computer Science student at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, driven by a passion for building innovative software and pushing the boundaries of hardware systems. I’ve honed my skills across areas such as system software, machine learning, and web development. Currently, I’m a System Software Engineer Intern at Intel, where I’ve executed pre-silicon validation for Xeon processors. Through this experience, I’ve developed strong expertise in hardware modeling, Python, and C++, delivering solutions that streamline developer workflows and improve hardware compatibility. As an undergraduate researcher at the Advanced Human & Health Analytics Lab, I’m developing machine learning models to synthesize IMU data for stroke patient recovery tracking. From creating data processing pipelines to creating 3D human motion animations in Blender, I’m passionate about leveraging technology to solve real-world problems. In past roles, such as my internship at ViTrox Technologies, I developed large-scale applications including an LLM chat interface that autonomously handled over 900 employee inquiries and a real-time streaming data interface for PCB inspection machines. I’m always eager to apply my technical expertise to solve complex challenges, whether it’s in full-stack development, machine learning, or hardware-software integration.
