About Shaohong Wang
I am an optical professional with experiences in optical system design, integration, verification and validation for semiconductors with metrology and biomedical applications. I have successfully delivered multiple R&D projects with key responsibilities in proposing concepts, defining specifications (requirements), designing products, validating designs and transferring designs to production. To provide the best solution for each project, I effectively communicated with multiple functional teams and optics suppliers to ensure the design for the manufacturability of products. I am the first researcher to demonstrate the efficient Er doped MOS LED and developed 4 different rare-earths doped MOS LEDs. My expertise includes: geometrical/physical optical simulation, optical system tolerancing, optical imaging system testing, digital image processing algorithms, image quality analysis and quantitative evaluations. I have a strong interest in developing biomedical optical instruments and equipment.Skills: • Optics Design: Sequential/Non-sequential ray tracing using ASAP, Zemax and Code V • 2D/3D image: Stereo image calibration, rectification, digital holography and image reconstruction• Image Quality: Imatest, 1858, JND-based perceptual image quality analysis.• Optical Lab: Lasers, fibers, CCD/CMOS, DOE, optical and electronic measurements• Light Analysis: coherence, spectroscopy and photometric analysis • Math modeling: Matlab, Python, Visual Basic, Visual C++.• Mechanical design tool: ProEE, Solid works and AutoCAD.
