ABOUT SHANTAE MOTLEY-HODGES
I am an equity-centered educator, researcher, and leader with a strong commitment to advancing justice, healing, and systemic transformation for historically marginalized and system-impacted populations. With over a decade of experience spanning juvenile justice, child welfare, higher education, and community-based research, my work sits at the intersection of data, policy, and lived experience.Grounded in a trauma-informed, intersectional lens, I specialize in translating research into actionable change through program evaluation, policy analysis, strategic planning, and community engagement. My expertise includes racial and gender justice advocacy, data-driven decision-making, and the development of restorative, culturally responsive interventions for vulnerable populations including children, youth in foster care or juvenile systems, unhoused individuals, justice-involved people, veterans, women, and communities of color.Throughout my career, I have led multidisciplinary teams, secured grant funding, built meaningful partnerships with community-based organizations, and designed initiatives that amplify the voices of those often left out of traditional research and policymaking spaces. As both a scholar and practitioner, I am deeply passionate about using data not only to inform but to transform systems in ways that center healing, accountability, and equity.Let’s connect if you are passionate about reimagining justice, investing in vulnerable communities, or exploring research-informed solutions for systemic change.
