ABOUT SHANNON SCHISSLER
I am a peacebuilding and human rights leader with almost two decades of experience advancing democratic governance, civil society, and community resilience across Latin America and globally. I bring a strong track record of managing complex, multimillion-dollar initiatives—including a $260M regional portfolio that integrated governance, human rights, violence prevention, and community-driven infrastructure to expand opportunity and institutional trust during periods of crisis and disruption. I specialize in collaborative, cross-sector solutions grounded in local leadership and evidence-based strategy. My work spans civil society protection, crisis response, youth development, environmental programs, and institutional reform—partnering with Indigenous Peoples, grassroots organizations, and government counterparts to expand protection, strengthen access to services, and promote opportunity in communities facing political or environmental risk. Fluent in Spanish and experienced in high-stakes, multicultural environments, I combine policy insight with operational leadership to drive responsive, people-centered strategies. I am especially passionate about supporting systems that reflect the voices and needs of historically underserved communities.
