ABOUT SHANNON MACIKA
I am a Senior Expert and Head of the Delivery Hub Department at BABLE Smart Cities, helping cities turn ambitious climate and innovation goals into strategies that actually work on the ground.Trained in public health, I approach urban challenges through a systems lens, recognizing that health, equity, and sustainability are shaped as much by policy and infrastructure as by individual choices. My work spans climate-resilient investment, inclusive mobility, and digital platforms for government, supporting public institutions and their partners across Europe, the UK, and the U.S. with data, tools, and real-world insight to enable more people-centered transitions.Day to day, I lead a fully remote and global team; manage complex, multi-stakeholder projects; and spend a lot of time building trust across disciplines and sectors.Outside of work, I’m a parent navigating city life by bike, stroller, and public transit; a civic volunteer in my community; and an active participant in networks focused on public health, equity, and the built environment.If you are working in or interested in any of these topics and enjoy thoughtful conversations about how cities can do better, I am always happy to connect!
