About Shannon Hauff

I became a designer after working in a psychiatric lockdown unit for children in Boston\'s Jamaica Plain. In grad school, I emailed Donald Norman—the \"Godfather of UX”—for his perspective on obtrusive design. He emailed me back. Shoot your shot. I love asking questions.I don\'t love selling myself.When I’m not designing on the computer, I’m designing my house. But I’m asking the same types of questions: How might I reduce the time it takes to make my morning coffee? How might I change the layout of my bedroom to make hanging clothes easier? What’s the optimal flow for unpacking groceries?I\'m lucky enough to travel often. In 2024, I traveled to Washington, New Orleans, LA, Las Vegas, NV, South Africa, Doha, Qatar, Cabo, Mexico, Puerto Vallarta, MX, Hawaii, HA, Tahiti, Moorea, New Zealand, and Japan. In 2025, I’ll be in Arizona for Spring Training and Tarifa, Spain for a singing retreat. I\'m fascinated by toilet design in other countries. New Zealand offers the best experiences.
