WORK HISTORY
Co-founder & Principal Consultant @Summit Approach Strategies, Llc
I started Summit Approach because the work I was already doing helping leaders figure out why things feel broken and building practical paths forward finally had a name. This isn\'t a big firm. It\'s intentionally small. I take on a limited number of engagements at a time because I believe the work deserves real attention, not a templated playbook. What I do: I partner with leaders who feel like their team, their workflows, or their operations are stuck. I map what\'s actually happening, find the root causes, and help build something more sustainable. No blame. No unnecessary complexity. Just clarity and a plan that people can follow. This work runs alongside my search for a full-time director-level role because doing meaningful work while I look for the right fit is better than waiting.
EDUCATION
American Military University

ABOUT SHANNON WIRTH
I care about people. I also get things done. Those two things are not in conflict at least not in the way most organizations think. My career started at 17, when I enlisted in the Army Reserves and trained as an intelligence analyst. For the next 12+ years I worked in environments where ambiguity was the norm, the stakes were high, and figuring out what was actually happening beneath the noise was the job. That instinct never left me. It just found a new home in business operations. After a deliberate pivot that included finishing my undergrad and earning a master\'s from Johns Hopkins, I moved into tech. I joined Turbonomic as an SDR not because I wanted a sales career, but because I wanted to understand a product and a business from the ground up before trying to improve it. Four months later I was managing the team. A year after that I was running global enablement. By the end of my time at IBM I was leading execution strategy for SDR organizations across multiple software portfolios worldwide. The through line in all of it: I walk into complex, messy, high-friction situations and I make them clearer. I find where the workflows are broken, where ownership has gone fuzzy, where the communication is creating more problems than it\'s solving and then I build something better. Not theoretical. Not a deck. Something the team can actually use.I do my best work when it matters who shows up. When the work is specific enough that my fingerprints are on it. When I can tell at the end of the day that things are different because I was there.I\'m currently looking for a Chief of Staff or senior strategic operations role at a remote-first company where leadership is genuinely invested in building something that works. If that sounds like your team, I\'d love to talk.
