Key Accountabilities:Financial Statement Management:• Assist in the company’s monthly and annual closing.• Maintain general ledger, including journal entries, & account reconciliation Tax Return Preparations/Filing:• Stay updated on changes in tax rates, laws, and regulations affecting sales & use tax for multiple states/jurisdictions.• Mange the preparation and filing of Sales and Use Tax Returns, process tax related assessments and payments.External Audit Preparation:• Coordinate and prepare documentation for external audits, ensuring accuracy and completeness.• Liaise with auditors to provide necessary support during audit procedures.General Accounting Tasks:• Assist in oversight of day-to-day accounting activities, including accounts payable, sales and use tax, and general ledger maintenance.• Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies to ensure accuracy.• Provide final review of all accounts payable transactions to ensure purchase reasonableness, adherence to company policy, data integrity, and regulatory compliance (use tax liability determination).• Oversee, maintain and review all company credit card accounts to ensure corporate compliance.• Overseeing the collection and maintenance of W9, Business Classification, and vendor banking databases.Team Leadership and Collaboration:• Provide guidance and knowledge to accounting staff.• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, human resources, and legal to achieve company goals and objectives.• Annual goal/work performance reviews for accounting staff.
