About Shannon Statham

Since graduating with my PhD in Aerospace Engineering from Georgia Tech in 2011, I have worked as an engineer for the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), a Federally Funded Research and Development Center for NASA in Southern California. Most of my day-to-day work involves planning, managing, and implementing activities to assemble and test systems (science payloads, spacecraft buses, etc.) for flight missions. I am also involved in several CubeSat activities at JPL, including roles on a number of CubeSat tasks, mentoring and participating on review boards for CubeSat flight projects, and providing feedback to JPL management related to CubeSat missions and operations at the lab.

   Deputy Manager for the Mechanical Fabrication and Test Section at JPL. My Section is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and testing flight and development hardware, and it includes the JPL Machine Shop, Environmental Test Lab, Additive Manufacturing Center, Mechanical Flight Technicians, Propulsion and Fluid System Services, and Pressure System Services.
