ABOUT SHANNON SOMMERS
Hi, I\'m Shannon. I have been in clinical dentistry for most of my adult life. I started out as an OJT dental assistant and made my way to becoming a dental hygienist. Improving oral health comes with that title, but my passion to do so goes beyond the dental operatory. Due to my higher education, I now have a thorough understanding of how patient data and the insights within that data can help improve not only dental health, but total health. I am involved in HIT advocacy, standards concerning dental informatics, and promoting dental informatics on a global scale. With that, I am about to begin my new role as a research administrator with Delta Dental of Michigan. Research is my middle name, oral health is my game, and informatics is my claim to fame.
