About Shannon McFayden
Shannon McFayden has invested almost 40 years in helping leaders and organizations drive culture and results. She started working with Red Ventures in 2011 in a Leadership Advisory capacity, coaching executives and developing leaders. In June of 2020, she assumed the role of Chief Diversity Officer, and in August of 2021, passed that baton to Khemari, and returned to her advisory role. Prior to joining Red Ventures, she spent several years consulting with a wide variety of organizations on leadership effectiveness, communications, talent management and organizational culture. Shannon spent the first 27 years of her career in financial services, working in every part of Human Resources, along with several years leading Community Affairs. She ultimately became the head of Human Resources and Corporate Relations for Wachovia (the 4th largest financial institution in the country at the time,) and provided direct leadership for employees in Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Community Relations and Marketing, as well as leadership for several cross-org initiatives, including merger integration, diversity and the creation of the company\'s Vision and Values. Shannon also has extensive leadership experience in the community, including serving on the Boards of Davidson College, Golden Door Scholars, Central Piedmont Community College, Levine Museum of the New South, Charlotte Country Day School (Chair), Teach For America Charlotte (Chair), United Negro College Fund, Community School of the Arts, Novant Medical Group, Presbyterian Healthcare Foundation, Charlotte Mecklenburg Education Foundation, Child Care Resources (Chair), the Charlotte Capital Campaign Planning Board (Chair) and KinderMourn (Chair). She also received a Mayoral Appointment as an Equal Opportunity Commissioner in Jacksonville, Florida. Named as one of the \"25 Most Powerful Women in Banking\" by US Banker, she has also been recognized with the United Negro College Fund\'s \"Maya Angelou Women Who Lead\" Award, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund\'s \"Award of Excellence\", and the Dress for Success \"Paradigm Award\".
