Direct a department of 34 with 5 direct reports and an annual budget of $3.4 million. This department is ultimately responsible for the accurate settlement of the ISO administered markets which peaked in 2008 at over $14 billion. Market Analysis and Settlements (MAS) has four key functions: Market Settlements, Market Operations Support Services (MOSS), Tariff Change Coordination (TCC) and Market Analysis. The settlements function is charged with administering the ISO New England Markets (hourly and monthly) and the Tariffs in a timely and accurate manner; and representing the company in legal matters such as FERC Settlement Agreements, Participant Arbitrations, resolving billing disputes and recommending changes to the organization’s Tariffs. The MOSS function manages the implementation of major companywide projects that calls for the synthesis of technology and business best practices to create the most efficient and effective solution for the marketplace and the organization utilizing quality management principles. This requires collaboration and coordination with Market Participants and with many departments across the organization including; Information Technology, Market Development, Systems Operations, Market Operations and Legal Departments. The TCC function manages the entity wide market rule change management process. Lastly, the Market Analysis function provides market information to our internal and external stakeholders. The measures of our success are the corporate “bid to bill” scorecard metric results and our ability to positively impact the quality of the ISO by highlighting potential risks and recommending process improvements.
