WORK HISTORY
Executive Director @Acc National Capital Region
ACC NCR sits at the intersection of law, business, policy, and community, serving more than 2,500 in-house members at 900 employers in the District, Virginia, and nearby Maryland. As the Executive Director, I lead an amazing team of staff, volunteer leaders, and sponsors who collaborate to host 150 events per year, including educational, social, and service opportunities. Since I joined ACC NCR in 2018, the chapter has pivoted repeatedly. As a result, we have learned to pirouette! Through it all, community is the “spot” we focus on to keep our balance. To engage, support, and recognize our community members in dynamic and difficult times, we:• Launched a robust LinkedIn page (2,700+ followers).• Expanded our existing DEI efforts to add an annual DEI Conference, seven affinity groups, briefing sheets, workshops, and more.• Responded to COVID by increasing communications, adding sponsor benefits, and transitioning all programming online. • Facilitated the formation of new neighborhood committees in the District and Maryland.• Refreshed our annual Corporate Counsel Awards to highlight the breadth of in-house work and the corresponding reception to support greater interaction.• Established an annual Fall Conference (10+ CLEs and six networking sessions) and an annual Nonprofits & Associations Conference with ACC Global’s Nonprofit Network. To effectuate the changes listed above and more, the chapter has taken bold steps, including:• More than doubled ACC NCR’s staff.• Invested in our staff (e.g, adding employee benefits and engagement activities) and our volunteer leaders (e.g, hosting an annual planning meeting for engagement, leadership, and community committee leaders; and hosting thank you and training programs).• Reallocated funds and overhauled our budget and accounting processes.• Refined and expanded our annual sponsor program to increase transparency and predictability as well as add options tailored to our varied community.
