ABOUT SHANNON DOOLING-CAIN
Shannon Dooling-Cain was born in New Mexico, spent much of her life dancing in the suburbs of Philadelphia, and now calls Arizona home after six years in the Washington, D.C. metro area. Shannon is a Dance Artist, Educator, and Advocate, who has enjoyed working in many branches of the dance field. She has 15 years of experience teaching ballet, modern dance, contemporary, creative dance, jazz, children\'s classes, improvisation, and dance history at universities, studios, K-12 schools, and community organizations, as faculty member, choreographer, guest teacher, and adjudicator. Her background in arts administration includes her position with the National Dance Education Organization, former co-director of a professional project-based dance company, former co-director of the Washington, D.C. chapter of National Choreography Month, and administrative support for dance studios. Her modern and contemporary dance choreography has been featured at Dance Place and the Intersections Festival (Washington, D.C.), Baltimore Museum of Art, WAXWorks Showcase at Triskelion Arts Center (Brooklyn, NY), Philadelphia FringeArts Festival, and Arizona Dance West Festival among other festivals, showcases, and community venues. She has also choreographed three musicals: West Side Story, Oliver, and Titanic.Shannon is available for guest teaching engagements, choreography, private coaching, adjudication, studio or program consultation, writing, and administrative support.
