ABOUT SHANNON BRADDOCK
As Deputy Executive, I am a senior leader for one of the largest counties in the country, developing the strategy and implementation of the Executive\'s priorities. Dynamic people leader and manager. Served as Chief of Staff as King County faced early Covid impacts. Worked with leadership teams throughout the County to develop systems and processes to work to achieve equitable and effective emergency response to the pandemic. Supervise the Office of Climate. Provide oversight to government relations teams on priority issues including the passage and implementation of the county\'s $12 billion biennial budget, passage of levies (e.g. Crisis Care Centers, Veterans, Seniors, and Human Services, Best Starts for Kids, and King County Parks levies), regional economic development and recovery partnerships, local creative economy development, and the array of issues under county jurisdiction such as mobility, land conservation, parks, human services, public health, and local service delivery. Provide and manage coordination and strategic direction to department leadership, and staff throughout the county. Successfully establish and navigate public/private partnerships to find intersections in lines of work and resources and to identify gaps in order to achieve community goals. Work across governments on innovative regional issues such as creation of the King County Regional Homelessness Authority, implementation of Health through Housing, and Creative Economy. Previous experience in regulatory requirements for health care technology, campaign, and non-profit work. Demonstrated ability to build effective relationships internally and with elected and community leaders. Former member of the Board of Directors for WestSide Baby and the West Seattle Food Bank. Experience representing and testifying before City, County, and State legislative bodies on a broad range of issues. Successful fundraiser through grant writing and personal outreach.
