ABOUT SHANNON BEAMER
Shannon Beamer represents pharmaceutical and medical device companies in complex litigation in state and federal courts nationwide. Ms. Beamer has been a part of numerous trial teams in national products liability litigation involving several international pharmaceutical manufacturers. In that capacity, she has worked with attorneys from around the country to coordinate overall strategy and the day-to-day handling of individual cases. This work includes preparing opening statements, closing arguments, and witness examinations; drafting dispositive motions and other motions in limine; and working with experts in areas including toxicology, epidemiology, pathology, FDA regulations, endocrinology, nephrology, and urology. Ms. Beamer also has experience taking and defending depositions of both expert and fact witnesses, as well as significant experience preparing expert witnesses and company employees for deposition and trial. Ms. Beamer has served on a regulatory subject matter team related to the representation of an international pharmaceutical manufacturer. In this capacity, she has advised the client with respect to regulatory compliance as it relates to the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act. Ms. Beamer also represents companies in insurance coverage litigation, shareholder derivative litigation, breach of contract cases, and other commercial litigation matters. ActivitiesMs. Beamer is a 2013 graduate of the IADC Trial Academy at Stanford Law School. The IADC Trial Academy is an intensive, week-long program designed to develop defense trial advocacy skills. Shannon is active in the Drug and Medical Device section of the Defense Research Institute, and was chosen to serve on the steering committee for that section as one of the Young Lawyer Liaisons for the 20••••18 term. In this capacity, she organized the Young Lawyers Blockbuster Event for the May 2018 annual DMD seminar, during which she moderated a panel of in-house counsel. Currently, Ms. Beamer serves as the Vice Chair for Publications. In this role, Ms. Beamer solicits and edits articles on a variety of drug and device topics relevant to the defense bar for publication in DRI quarterly and annual publications.
