ABOUT SHANNON ADAMS
In 2016, I graduated cum laude from The Ohio State University, with a BA in Psychology and Education. Interested in working within education, I served in AmeriCorps. The following year, I ventured overseas to Northern Thailand, where I taught ESL to high school students in a small rural town. When selected as a Leadership Fellow at Case Western University in 2018, I was thrilled to embark on the 2-year journey of earning a Master of Social Work degree!Beginning my career in the mental health field during the pandemic was certainly a challenge. I\'ve continued to work alongside children and families each year since - currently as a school counselor at AXL Academy, a PreK-8 Expeditionary Learning School, where I offer a thoughtful mental health lens to the community. Additionally, I partner with Sondermind to provide online therapy to children, teens and young adults.
