I am so blessed to have had the opportunity to serve this great nation for ten years. The most valuable lesson that I learned throughout my time in the military is that Leadership is not only an art, but a science. It can be learned and developed when given access to the right mentor, environment, and opportunity. The ability to inspire others to ‘want’ to follow you is an invaluable trait (and skill) used to not only work towards mission accomplishment but the growth and development of those you serve. During my time as an enlisted Airman, I was fortunate to serve as a Professional Military Education Instructor and found myself gravitating towards Human Resources when considering my goals in the civilian workforce. Since my transition, I have been in the Human Resources world, training and growing my skills in the multiple facets of this critical organizational function.
