About Shannan Moore

Having a creative and organized mind has proven to be both a blessing and a curse. My creativity takes me to places most can only imagine and my organization allows me to plan and execute whatever I set my mind to do. However, I\'ve noticed that the two often compete for attention. In the final semester of my undergraduate career, I became the social media manager for Columbia College Chicago\'s hip hop club, which piqued my interest in social media and digital marketing. After receiving my BA, I enrolled in Harper College\'s eMarketing Certificate program, which later became their Social Media Specialist program. Throughout this program, I soon found that digital marketing is where a creative and organized mind interconnects. I began to understand how to use strategy and analytics to drive creative decisions that produce the best results for the consumer and business. In May 2020, I joined Fusion of Light Entertainment as their volunteer Head of Social Media. Over the course of a year, I gained hands-on experience creating a brand guideline, social media strategy, and content calendars for a startup entertainment company. I have also strengthened my leadership skills, as I oversee two social media assistants who help with creating and posting content. Now that I\'ve graduated, I\'m eager to see what the world of social media and digital marketing has in store for me.
