ABOUT SHANNA NOLAN

I joined Shell Canada in 2010 after graduating with a mechanical engineering degree from Memorial University of Newfoundland. At Shell I have supported various assets in North America as a Completions and Well Interventions engineer, including Peace River Alberta, Groundbirch BC, and Taylorstown Pennsylvania. I also spent 3 years as a wellsite supervisor for Completions. From 20••••20 I was responsible for well interventions and abandonments in the Groundbirch field in BC, with a primary focus on wells with integrity issues including surface casing vent flows. In my current role I am responsible for surface abandonments in the Groundbirch field, including decommissioning and reclamation, as well as legacy re-entry abandonments across North America. I am keen to work towards better technical solutions to P&A challenges and in moving forward together as an industry through technology trials and shared learning.
