About Shanna Kim
In May 2024, I graduated from Washington and Lee University with a Bachelor of Arts in Anthropology and a Bachelor of Arts in Politics with a minor in Poverty and Human Capabilities Studies. Along with my diploma, I left Lexington with a passion for policy and a fascination in the renewable energy sector. I am now combining my passions with my interests through pursuing my Master of Public Policy at Duke University’s Sanford School of Public Policy. At Sanford, I intend to study the intersection between social policy and energy policy to make long-lasting change in social safety nets as they pertain to individuals affected by the shifting nature of our energy sources from nonrenewable to renewable. I am looking forward to exploring different industries that will bring me closer to my goal of social safety net reform or those that will help me learn more about the renewable energy sector as I navigate career options after I graduate from Sanford in 2026.
