About Shanmuganathan K
Shan is a seasoned Sustainable Professional with over 12 years of consulting and policy research experience in the thematic areas of climate change, decarbonization, and energy. He has recently joined the Deloitte Climate Change & Sustainability (DCS) team, which supports leading businesses and organizations to achieve their sustainability goals and enhance their resilience and competitiveness. Previously, he was associated with the Climate Change and Sustainability Services (CCaSS) of EY, where he led and contributed to several engagements on climate change advisory and assurances, GHG inventorization, and ESG for clients across diversified sectors. Before joining EY, he worked with TERI, a globally renowned climate research institute, where he led and participated in more than 20 assignments on climate change mitigation, GHG inventorization, MRV, technology assessment, and SDGs. Prior to TERI, Shan worked with UNDP-India for five years, where he spearheaded the implementation of energy-efficient technologies in 80 MSME steel units, resulting in significant energy savings and emission reductions. He was awarded an \'Excellent\' rating for his performance and professional excellence for three consecutive years and served as an expert technical committee member for the Ministry of Steel in 2018. Shan has published about 20 discussion papers and articles on energy and climate change and holds an M.Tech in Energy Engineering from the College of Engineering-Guindy (CEG), Anna University.
