My role as a Cybersecurity Communications Coordinator gives me the opportunity to intersect my passion for content creation by developing strategies to further enhance the knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, in and outside the box. I’ve created several graphics, written several posts and planned many events to bring awareness about pressing issues in cybersecurity which continues to reach an audience of 10k+. I strive to create meaningful content that educates people about how to stay safe from cyber threats.

ABOUT SHANMITHA KUMAR
Hello! My name is Shanmitha and I am a 5th year Multimedia student at McMaster University, currently interning in Cybersecurity Communications at CIBC. It all started with my love for story telling, content creation and event planning at a young age. I was an avid reader, the vlogger on vacations, the \"go to\" planner for family events and the passionate and dramatic story teller. My passion led me to begin my journey at CIBC in 2022, where I was immediately drawn to the inclusive and dedicated work culture through the various roles I was apart of. Through experiences in Project Management, Communications and now Cybersecurity, I’m able to bring my passion through written and creative graphics by creating meaningful content that brings a sense of purpose and inspires my audience. I\'m extremely proud of my work ethic and my commitment to build long lasting relationships. I love learning from other people and I believe that attentive listening and being open minded to new ideas can help foster stronger relationships and strengthen sharp minded thinking. Apart from exploring professional opportunities, I love travelling, reading and journalling. I am looking forward to enhancing my knowledge and interpersonal skills within the professional workplace and working with new individuals.
