Founded in Wide Awake Films crafts feature-length documentaries, episodic television, large-screen projections, virtual reality films, and 4K theater presentations all from our studio in Kansas City, Missouri. We make history relevant, accessible, and unforgettable, no matter the medium. Our full-time team is highly skilled, with an average tenure of more than 10 years. Our years of experience collaborating together as a creative team translate to consistently well-crafted productions. Each of us has extensive filmmaking capabilities and a heart for storytelling. PRE-PRODUCTION: We employ award-winning writers and producers who conceptualize program ideas that are riveting and relevant to today’s audiences. And we work with other creative teams to bring their visions to life. We collaborate in-person on the daily. PRODUCTION: With our Arri Amira in hand, our staff directors and camera operators are specialists in historical filming and field production. We capture everything from single-person interviews and intimate dialogue scenes to large-scale battle recreations with hundreds of actors and crew. POST-PRODUCTION: Our studio in Kansas City houses a full-time post-production staff with the abilities to tackle all editing, color grading, and audio mixing tasks. We\'ve got a 225 TB NAS system connected to seven high speed workstations, so we\'re fully equipped with plenty of storage for long-form shows. And we\'ve been mastering in 4K since 2016. Our visual effects department creates stunning storyboards and articulates animation that visually underscores and elevates our films. We\'re skilled in character animation, 3D renderings, and creating informational graphics to explain a complex idea.
