About Shane Messick
Hello! I’m Shane, your next people and HR specialist. Who am I? Since I was a kid, I\'ve been the one sparking and sparkling up conversations, mastering not just the power of words but also the powerful skills of being a trusted listener. Building rapport with people comes second nature and I think that\'s because of my genuine desire to connect. With more than 20 years of work experience, I have witnessed a lot of opportunities for improvement when it comes to new hire orientation, onboarding, benefits and more. I wish there was someone that could have helped fill in the gaps for what I needed to know about the company so I could align with organizational goals. Journey to now? A stint at Stevenson University, where I spiced up my Business Communication degree with a dash of marketing zest, moved to Los Angeles post-graduation, and paved my way into the entertainment sector. This saw me donning many hats, from recruiting talent for TV, assisting talent agents and finally, working for Apple. Where am I going next? Following my tenure as a Communications Specialist with Apple\'s Benefits and Wellness team and my success as a People Operations Planner, I have begun preparing for my SHRM-CP. I am eager to merge my expertise in the realm of Human Resources, talent recruiting, strategic communication and collaborate with other skillful minds to deploy the right solutions and provide the information teams need to Fun fact: I\'m an avid escape room enthusiast, having conquered nearly 150 rooms across four states—a testament to my love for puzzles, problem solving, teamwork and of course communication. Additional fun fact: As a dedicated fan of 90s Nickelodeon, I created and currently run the number one public Facebook group with over members, celebrating the era\'s iconic shows.
