The Major/Deputy Director is primarily responsible for managing the law-enforcement licensure and ensuring the department meets all requirements in compliance with company police state mandates. Specific duties include managing access control for building safety, fire prevention and employee, patient, and visitors\' safety. Responsible for assisting in the scheduling, training, and development of the lieutenants. The Major must understand the changing needs of the customer and is able to effectively deploy staff in order to meet those needs in a cost-effective manner. The manager must be well versed in security, healthcare security, HIPPA policies along with policies, pharmacy regulations and other healthcare related regulations. The manager must implement the department operation plan and goals of the department consistent with the hospital goals. The manager must act as a liaison to other departments and outside agencies to address any security concerns while fostering a safe environment. This position requires an in-depth knowledge of project management, leadership, communication, prioritization skills, and budget management.
