Led the development of the OGC Environmental Data Retrieval API for the World Area Forecast Internet File System (WIFS-API) for dissemination of aviation weather data at an international scale- Designed the scalable cloud infrastructure and developed the OGC Environmental Data Retrieval API for the National Digital Forecast Database web service to support origin hits of greater than per hour- Led the development of the OGC API - Environmental Data Retrieval for the NOAA Cloud Pathfinder project in which a highly scalable Serverless environment was created using AWS tooling- Leading the development of the OGC API - Environmental Data Retrieval for the Dynamic Ensemble Scenarios for Impact Based Decision Support Systems (DESI)- Co-Author on the OGC API - Environmental Data Retrieval Part 2 specification for PubSub and one of the first implementers of an event driven workflow following this standard

ABOUT SHANE MILL

Shane Mill is a Senior Web Developer within the Weather Information and Applications Division of the Meteorological Development Lab of the National Weather Service and has been a part of this project since September of 2018. Since joining MDL, Shane has prototyped ways that existing standards can enhance operational capabilities. More recently, he has contributed to the OGC Environmental Data Retrieval API Standards Working Group and OGC MetOcean Domain Working Group and has helped lead the development of the National Weather Service’s implementation of the OGC Environmental Data Retrieval API (EDR-API). In addition, Shane contributed to the development of the NWS National GIS Map Viewer.Shane was previously an Operational Meteorologist at Radiant Solutions (formerly EarthSat and MDA IS).
