ABOUT SHANE LEVESQUE

Known by those who work with me as a strategic visionary, I excel at translating broad objectives into actionable strategies, fostering collaboration among diverse teams, and achieving results while upholding ethical leadership. In my current position, I am the senior executive representing Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada across the Northwest Territories, Alberta, Saskatchewan, and Manitoba—a region that encompasses approximately 30% of Canada’s physical geography, 18% of its population, and 30% of GDP. This role involves overseeing the Department’s mandate for National Security, Public Safety, and Emergency Management in a politically complex region characterized by diverse Indigenous communities, urban centers, and vast rural areas, requiring nuanced stakeholder engagement and cross-jurisdictional coordination. My expertise spans data-driven strategic planning, stakeholder engagement and partnering, and risk and crisis management. I currently lead emergency management at Public Safety and Emergency Preparedness Canada, having directed the coordination of the regional federal response to major regional crises, such as the evacuations of Jasper (2024) and Yellowknife (2023), and the COVID-19 Pandemic (20••••22). I also implement National Crime Prevention Strategies by overseeing the administration of over $678 million CAD in funding agreements for crime prevention and counter-radicalization initiatives. My education includes a Master’s of Business Administration, with a concentration in Marketing, and a Master’s in Political Studies, with a focus on nuclear deterrence strategy. I am also a graduate of the Canadian Forces College\'s National Security Program, a program designed to equip military officers with the strategic leadership skills necessary for high-level command and institutional leadership roles. I am ready to bring my leadership strengths and diverse professional experiences to the private sector, aiming to drive innovation, operational success, and resilience in organizations that value strategic foresight and community-focused leadership. Let’s connect to explore potential collaborations.
