   Works with product development on new product introductions, including the implementation of design changes into the operation process. • Initiates ordering of raw material through SciQuest and SAP to assure material availability in accordance with raw material lead times to meet demand. Identifies material bottlenecks and coordinate replenishment events. • Prepares purchase orders by verifying specifications in Agile PLM, price and confirmation of required approvals are obtained prior to placing orders with Suppliers. • Manage Supplier relationships and find cost savings through sourcing of new suppliers and pricing/term negotiations. Work to gain cost savings based on preferred-pricing, volume discounts, and time-phased deliveries, etc. • Part of the core SAP Production Planning and Manufacturing implementation team within PacBio. Responsibilities included creating and running test scripts, help design and configure software parameters for the following modules: Demand and Supply Planning (MRP), Procurement & Inbound Logistics, Production Orders & Warehouse Logistics. • Develop an efficient and accurate reporting system for monitoring all purchase orders as well as inventory levels and benchmarks. • Work with internal customers to determine areas to increase efficiency in purchasing and supplies. • Track purchase orders and ensure timely delivery of products and execution of services. • Assists with developing long range material plans based on sales, forecasts, inventory objectives and plant capacity. Supports, develops and administers strategic inventory management design and implementation for POU, KanBan, VMI and lean manufacturing methods. • Optimizes raw material, WIP, and finished goods inventories to ensure efficient workflow through the plant, minimizes cost and enhances delivery performance. • Plans, schedules and monitors the movement of Flow Cell material from purchase through production using MRP. Coordinates the efficient movement of materials.
