Manager and advocate for a team of >20 engineers based in Vancouver, Canada. The VTC ONTAP team consists of a mix of SW Engineers, SW Developers in Test and one additional Engineering Manager. This team is primarily responsible for developing, testing and releasing the NetApp OnTAP scale-out NAS container products “Infinite Volume” and “FlexGroup”, as well as the OnTAP greenfield product “File System Analytics”. Developed effective relationships across the company with teams in Bangalore, Sunnyvale, Pittsburgh and Raleigh to drive collaboration and development. Key Achievements: • Led and managed greenfield development efforts to launch the initial (and subsequent) version of “File System Analytics”. Worked closely with Product Management, TMEs and select customers to better understand use-cases and iterate each release to provide customer value. Virtual team size consisted of around 25 engineers total at peak (and cross-geographies). • Successfully delivered a major revenue enablement feature to enable quota management for FlexGroup. Managed a virtual team of up to 24 engineers to accomplish this across multiple sites and delivered exactly on schedule – the largest FlexGroup project to date. • Actively recruited and grew the VTC OnTAP team from 12 to 21 engineers over an 18-month period. • Responsible for transitioning engineering team of 40+ to scrum methodology. • Worked with the product management team to bootstrap a deprecation strategy of “Infinite Volume” over a multi-release time period • Largely responsible of proliferation of continuous integration test suites at NetApp • Champion for VTC with NetApp wide hack-a-thons – including one that was eventually productized for an OnTAP feature called “FlexVol Conversion” which was viewed as revenue enabling. • Familiar with performance management and employee retention techniques.
