About Shanaya Sequeira
As a recent Literature graduate with a global perspective, I am keen to pursue opportunities in fields related to content creation, publishing, and research. With a semester exchange at the University of Southampton, UK, my academic and professional experiences span teaching, research, and communication, where I have applied critical analysis, writing, and leadership to diverse projects in education, law, and community engagement.Professionally, I’ve gained hands-on experience across various fields. From teaching high school students as a substitute teacher and designing lesson plans to conducting archival research on English witchcraft trials and contributing to editorial work with different organizations, each role has strengthened my adaptability and my ability to connect ideas with people.Beyond structured academics and professional work, I lean strongly toward creative writing. Whether it’s short fiction, editorial content, or cultural projects, I find meaning in shaping narratives that inspire curiosity and dialogue. My published work under The WriteOrder was an early milestone in this journey and I went on to use these skills in The OpenPost, a student-run newspaper. Since then, I’ve continued exploring how creativity and imagination is present in every aspect of life.Alongside this, I’ve held leadership positions as Vice President of my school’s student body and General Secretary of the college council, where I organized cultural and academic initiatives, launched committees, and worked to strengthen student engagement. These experiences have sharpened my leadership, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.Looking ahead, I’m eager to explore opportunities in education, research, publishing, and creative industries spaces where I can combine the rigor of academic research with the imagination of creative writing, and contribute to meaningful projects that bring ideas to life.
