Shana Allysa Grant is a proud native of Washington, DC, born to immigrant parents from Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. She is a rising senior at Spelman College, studying Comparative Women’s Studies and Theatre and Performance. Upon graduating from Spelman College, Shana hopes to obtain a doula certification and a Ph.D. in Public Health to aid in the advocacy and survival of Black birthing people and their infants in low-income, urban communities such as her own in Washington, DC.
