ABOUT SHAMUS REID
As Chief Operating Officer at New/Mode, I create and operationalise strategies for a leading advocacy and public engagement platform. We enable the world\'s most important causes to build community power. We\'ve helped over 17 million passionate people connect over 80 million times with those in power, across every communications channel. My career has been focused on setting and serving the vision, goals and strategy of mission-driven technology, legislative, service, and political organizations in the public, private, and nonprofit sectors. I have planned and executed strategies at corporate, business, and team levels. I am proud to have created financial and social value for hundreds of organizations and millions of people. I live, work, and play on the traditional Lands and in the traditional Waters of the lək̓ʷəŋən-speaking Peoples, known today as the Songhees and Esquimalt Nations. As a Settler in their homeland, my ancestors and I have benefitted from efforts to separate the lək̓ʷəŋən from their territory and culture. I am grateful to the lək̓ʷəŋən and their ancestors for their stewardship and grace; and for providing me with a safe home, a bounty of salmon, rich stories, humour, carvings, song, drumming, and dance.
